Why use LED lighting technology? The U.S. Department of Energy projects that LED lighting technology will reduce electricity demand by 62% and eliminate 258 million tons of carbon emissions in the next 20 years.

Long life: The typical life of an LED light is greater than 50,000 hours. This is more than 12 years if the light is used even half of the time. LED lights last up to 4 times longer than fluorescent and at least 20 times longer than traditional incandescent lights.

Safety: Minimal heat generation also means they’re safe to the touch, and they don’t produce any harmful UV rays.

Durability: LED lighting uses solid state technology, so it’s extremely durable and can be subjected to very high levels of shock and vibration.

Extreme temperatures: LED lighting can operate in extreme temperature ranges, typically 27˚F (-3˚C) to +176˚F (80˚C).

Instant on: LEDs turn on with no delay, making them more convenient and allowing the addition of motion sensing.

Compact: LEDs are very compact, with the highest light output per square inch of any conventional lighting technology. You can also control the light beam precisely with various plastic lenses.

Lower infrastructure cost: Lower-rated components (smaller gauge wire, smaller transformers and smaller breakers) can be used in new designs, lowering your costs.

Cost savings: Low power consumption means lower electricity bills. It’s common to see a Return-On-Investment (ROI) in less than 5 years.
